Jam Bars

This dessert comes together quickly, and is a favorite of the family for Christmas-time when we are craving the fresh fruits of summer. Use your favorite jam, our favorite repeats for this recipe are fig, raspberry, and strawberry!

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, quick oats, brown sugar, and butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press 2/3 of the crumbs into the bottom of an 11x7x1" pan. ***We recommend using parchment paper in the pan! This makes the clean up afterwards way easier, trust us!
  4. Spread jam or preserves over surface.
  5. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs and slightly push down to compress mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until slightly browned.
  7. As the jam bars cool, cut into whatever sized squares you would like. ***We recommend cutting several times as the jam bars cool. When they are first out of the oven, this is the easiest time to cut them. It may be difficult to cut them if you let them cool completely and haven't cut them at all yet.
