Honey
Honey
Update 3/2010
Our bees had a rough winter and we lost almost all of the hives. This will be a rebuilding year with the bees and we will likely not have any honey to sell. Thank you for understanding.
Our honey comes from hives we keep here on the farm. We keep a variety of honeybees- Italians, Carnolians, Minnesota Hygienics and Buckfasts. They each have unique strengths and attributes and all work to pollinate the fruits and vegetables on the farm and to store sweet honey. Our lighter colored honey is Spring Flow, extracted during the summer, and is the result of the early blooming flowers. The darker honey is what we call Late Flow, and is extracted in the fall.
Our honey is bottled raw with minimal filtration to provide you with the highest quality and taste. Over time, unprocessed honey will crystallize. To eliminate crystals, slowly warm the honey bottle in a water bath until the crystals dissolve.
Bottles with hi-flow spout lids (less mess of that sticky goodness!) are available in 8oz, and 1lb sizes* (Not available 2010).
