Fruits

Stop in and try some of the first tree fruits of our farm: Apples and Peaches currently in season.  Our grapes are ready too!

Please note: we allow our fruit to remain on the tree until perfectly ripe for maximum flavor, juice, and sweetness.  DO NOT HANDLE the fruit in the baskets.  It bruises easily and the other customers do not like that!  Also, lean way forward and have a pile of napkins ready when eating the peaches- they are EXTREMELY juicy!

The cantaloupe are ripening a few at a time.  I'll pick them and put them out as they are ready.

All pick your own berries have ended for 2010.  Thank you for your patronage!
Tips for picking strawberries can be found here:

Also coming in the summer 2010:

  • half pints of huge, juicy raspberries and blackberries
  • Black, red, and green grapes- cut off the vine when they are perfectly ripe will be available in limited quantities, a full crop is expected for 2011.  Several varieties of wine grapes may be available in limited quantities as well.  Please enquire.

Peaches:  limited quantities for 2010, full crop expected 2011
We've selected the sweetest varieties of freestone peaches because we love to eat them all year round.  Freestone means it is super-easy to pop the stones out after scalding and slipping the skins off, and then they are ready to be frozen or canned.  Of course, they are delicious right off the tree (and we eat as many as we possibly can in season!), but be warned: expect that peach juice to dribble right down your chin!

Apples: limited quantities for 2010, more for 2011
We've planted a little of everything- about 2 dozen varieties comprise our over 700 trees, with ripening dates from early August all the way through the end of autumn.
